If you are like most people, you are probably feeling the stress and pressure that comes with finishing up the year…

After I had my body breakdown, I discovered the healing powers of properly completing on things.

Learning how to ‘complete’ on things allowed me to create space in my life and free up my creative energy.

Here are 5 ideas to help you harness the power of completion in your own life and finish your 2018 on a high...

1. Send a thank you card.

One of my favourite ways to complete on my year is to express the quality of gratitude.

Take a moment to contemplate all the amazing things that other people have done for you over the past year.

It could be as simple as thinking about your favorite coffee barista, the neighbor who fed your cat while you were on holiday or even the friend who helped you with a big life challenge.

Once you have come up with a list of people that you are thankful for, choose one of those people and send them a surprise thank you card in the post. Be sure to share how much their kindness meant to you.

This doesn’t cost a lot, nor does it take much time. But, this simple act can really mean the world to someone else.

Once your energy starts to flow you may find that you feel moved to thank more than one person – And, this is great too!

Remember when we take time to count our blessings, the Universe gives us more blessings to count…

2. Give something away.

Over the course of a year it can be easy to collect more things than we want or need…

An easy way to complete on your year is to give away the things that you no longer use.

Maybe you can donate items to your local charity shop?

Consider gifting unused clothes, shoes, books, trinkets, jewelry and even unwanted gifts. Seriously look at any item that you don’t want to take with you into 2019.

I recently shared a wonderful idea on my Facebook Fanpage.

The idea was to give away an unwanted handbag to a homeless person filled with clothes, self care items and Christmas treats.

It could be a fun exercise that you could do with your children or a dear friend.

3. Gift items to your local food bank.

I personally think that de-cluttering your kitchen is a great idea any time of the year!

If you have collected food items that you are unlikely to use, consider donating them to your local food bank.

Food banks offer families a helping hand when they are in need. Donating food is an easy way to support the wonderful work that they do.

Most supermarkets have places where you can drop off food items at Christmas time.

This idea can help you to make a positive difference in the world as well as help keep your kitchen shelves clutter free.

4. Complete on a difficult emotional experience.

Do you feel emotionally incomplete with someone?

Was it connected to something that happened during the year?

Or perhaps it’s a difficult situation that has been playing out over a number of years?

Holding on to painful experiences can interfere with our inner peace and happiness.

Feelings like anger, fear, sadness, disappointment, jealousy, envy or resentment can adversely affect the quality of our lives.

These feelings can weigh heavily on our hearts, minds, bodies and spirits.

These unresolved emotional conflicts can also lead to coping strategies like emotional eating…

As difficult as it may seem, you can take proactive steps to release these uncomfortable feelings.

A simple exercise you can try at home is to journal about how you truly feel. It’s important not to censor yourself in any way.

Give yourself 15-30 minutes to do this exercise and see what comes up for you.

You may also consider working with a healer to help you arrive at a place of forgiveness and gratitude for each and every experience you had in 2018.

Know that within each experience were important lessons, gifts and blessings.

5. Tell someone that you love them.

When life gets busy it can be difficult to remember to express our feelings for the special people in our lives.

Before 2018 finishes, let your loved ones know how much you care and appreciate them.

Expressing your love and gratitude for having them in your life will help you to feel good on the inside.

It will also help you to deepen your feelings of connection with those closest to you…
