Since Autumn is one of my favorite seasons today I wanted to share with you 5 things I have been loving the most about being in England these last few weeks.

Each day I have been feeling so filled with gratitude to be able to experience the magic of Autumn and I'm delighted to share some of these magic moments with you in this article...

1. Walking through English parks

After spending the last 6 weeks away teaching yoga retreats all over Europe, (and before I fly over to Asia), these last few weeks I have been appreciating spending time in the spacious and expansive parks.

For me, these English parks, are a lush green paradise just perfect for thinking, walking, and connecting with nature. Wrapped up in my raincoat and boots, walking through parks brings me alive and is a lovely place to just 'be'. It feels so nourishing for my soul and spirit. England has some amazing parks and the one that I've been living close to in Surrey, even has it's own magical lake with families of (well-fed) ducks!

2. Pretty colored leaves

Another thing I love about the English parks at this time are all the majestic, beautiful trees. I love how at this time of the year, their shiny, green leaves all start to turn different shades of colours; from green to red, orange, gold and yellow. The burst of colours is so spectacular and is like a living modern art gallery! This magestic act serves as a powerful reminder for me that nothing is permanent. Just like nature, we too are in a constant place of change. Nothings stays the same, everything is in a constant state of evolution.

3. Cute English squirrels!

Oh my gosh, have you ever sat and watched a squirrel play? Squirrels could be one of the cutest animals I have ever seen! Over the past few weeks, I have been totally enchanted by them. It's been fascinating to watch them bounce around the woods, searching for nuts and then hiding their treasures under leaves (I even tried to get close enough to capture a photo for you but they were too shy!)

4. Wearing warm layers, leggings and boots

October-time in England, just might be my perfect weather: it’s the kind of weather I just love to wrap up in, under lots of different layers. Even though there certainly is a change in temperature, there’s still been lots of soft, dappled sunshine, warm winds and even the gentle rain is lovely at this time of the year. And, yet there is just the right amount of coolness in the air that it still feels ultra snuggly to wear a few extra layers of clothes, topped with woolly leggings and long boots. Bliss!

5. Abundance of (organic) cooking apples

Yes, it’s apple season and in our house we’ve been enjoying eating fresh green apples by the bucket. We’ve been grating, cooking and even juicing them. The last bag of apples was a gift from one of our neighbors which we made into stewed apple with an addition of fresh cinnamon and cloves. Now, this is what I call real food - food just as nature intended!
