Life is full of challenges. At some level, we all have them. It’s part and parcel of being a human being and living on Earth.

With this in mind, know that challenges can come in many different forms. Have a think about how your challenges show up in your life.

Do you experience financial challenges around money? Do you experience health challenges with your body and your energy levels? Do you experience relationship challenges with friends, work colleagues and family members?

Within your challenges are hidden gifts

The key is to recognize your challenges and know that they are here to offer you a special gift (even though it may not seem like it at the time!)

When you can learn to see your challenges as a hidden gift, you instantly release the process of suffering.

Your challenges are here to help propel you forwards on your life journey. You can successfully transform any challenge that you are facing in your life into a powerful catalyst for your personal success.

Here are the 7 steps to transform your challenges and use them as a springboard for growth…

Step #1: Recognise that you are a powerful being

Whether you realize it or not, you are a powerful human being. Within you are many internal resources that are sitting dormant just waiting to be activated.

Step #2: Believe that you can change your life

Choose to connect with and increase your thoughts of self-belief. Turn down the volume on thoughts of self-doubt, and increase your thoughts of courage and confidence.

Let your positive thoughts of self-belief be an inner resource and ally for you on your life journey.

Step #3: Create your rules for your success

Most challenges come from trying to follow someone else’s rules.

No-one knows what is best for you, but you. Listen to your inner voice and let it show you the way to creating happiness, health and success for you.

Step #4: Be prepared to do something different

You can’t do the same thing and expect to get the same results. Be prepared to do something different. Remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Start with baby steps and let the momentum of success build with time.

Step #5: Express gratitude for your pain and challenge

This idea is counter-intuitive for most people. But, bear with me as it is an important step for success.

When you express your gratitude for what has been, you make peace with it. You let go of the fight, the tension and the resistance. It is from this place of ease, that deep healing and growth can happen.

Step #6: Contemplate, ‘what is ready to shift in your life?’

This is the time to get honest with yourself and ask, ‘what is ready to change?’ At first it may not be obvious (or it might be), either way is fine.

It is your challenges that are pointing you towards a new and better way of living, one that will be more joyful for you.

Author, teacher and counselor Mary O’Malley says it beautifully in her latest book, ‘Whatever is in the way, IS the way.’

Step #7: Create a new vision of what you want to create.

Now is the time to get creative and brainstorm. What is it that you would love to create in your life?

When I was sick and overweight, I created an idea that I could be vibrantly healthy and naturally trim. At the time, it was so far from my current reality.

But, the idea motivated me. I felt excited thinking about it Let the feeling of excitement guide you to creating a new vision for what you would love to create in your life.

Healing and transformation are possible

Whatever challenges you are facing today, let them be a powerful catalyst for growth in your life.
