Have you ever wondered what it takes to create true vibrant health?
This is the question I faced when my own health was taken away from me. I became interested in the answer to this for myself not by choice but by necessity.
My body completely collapsed, I was bedridden and the Doctors wanted to put me on experimental medication for life.
When I started my own healing journey, I was totally overwhelmed and frustrated with all the contradicting information available (and this is before the days of Google and the internet as most of my initial research into healing was carried out by reading different books borrowed from my local library).
Here are 3 things that I have learnt on this journey. I hope that they help guide you, giving you more clarity and confidence on your own path to creating vibrant health and wellness...
1. Do not delegate your health to anyone else.
We live in a world where most of us (from a young age) are taught to listen to everyone else, except our selves. This is fine and useful when we are little children, but if you continue to do this as an adult, it will result in you giving away your power to other people.
The key thing is to remember here is that you are powerful. You are the only true expert on you, your body and your life. No-one knows your life story better than you. Have the courage to do what is right for you. Give yourself full permission to take control of your health and let yourself become your true authority.
Becoming your true authority means to question everything. When you hear something new, simply ask yourself, 'does this resonate with me?' If so, take it on board. If not, just let it go.
2. Your thoughts and emotions affect your health.
It was George Bernard Shaw who said, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds, cannot change anything”.
Glossy magazines are full of diet and exercise information but I find that they are often lacking in information about the importance of your inner world: your thoughts, your feelings and your dreams.
When you lovingly tend to your inner world of thoughts and feelings (imagine cultivating them like a beautiful garden), and align them with what you truly want, then you start to move into the drivers seat of your health.
Focus on planting seeds of what you want to create in your life. Infuse them with love, positivity and kindness. Each day choose your words wisely and take care to nourish your dreams, encouraging them to grow and blossum.
When you approach your health from a loving place within, you truly can consciously create the body and the life that you dream of.
3. Learn how to trust your ‘body’ intuition and inner wisdom.
Most people are constantly over-riding their bodies and when they do this, it makes it difficult to listen, trust and act upon their own inner guidance.
Start to notice what foods (and people, situations and actions) make you feel good. Notice what gives you energy. Notice what drains your energy. Do more of the things that energise and interest you. Have the confidence to say 'yes' to the things that you enjoy and 'no' to the things that you don't.
Pay attention to the feedback that you receive from your body and your life. When you apply this information, you can start to make different choices and create an interesting, fulfilling and satisfying life for yourself.
It is your birthright to create vibrant health.
You were born absolutely perfect with gifts and talents to express in the world. Don't worry about the latest health trends and weight loss fads.
Tune into your inner world. Trust and listen to your thoughts, your feelings and your dreams and let them guide you as you venture on your healing journey.
