Do you feel as though your fears are getting in the way of you living your dreams?

Feeling fearful has the power to keep you feeling stuck and playing small in the world. When your fears are bigger than your dreams, it can lead to a very frustrating life but it doesn't have to be this way...

So, let’s look at 3 things that you can do to stop feeling fearful so that you can create a life that you love...

1. Stop regretting the past.

Are you someone who lives with the feeling of regret?

There are 2 main ways that regret can show up in our lives: either (1) regret for the things that you did or (2) regret for the things that you didn’t do. Either way, regret is something that belongs in the past. If you do have regrets, anytime spent thinking about what you could or should have done is a guaranteed way to make yourself feel bad.

The best thing to do is to change your point of focus. Instead of living with the feeling of regret, search for the learning and the lessons from your past, so that next time you can do things differently.

2. Stop worrying about the future.

Are you someone who endlessly worries about the future? Do you replay future events over and over again in your mind?

Worrying about the future can drain your energy and if left unaddressed, can even manifest in your life as anxiety and fear.

But the good news is that worrying is just a habit that can be stopped with conscious awareness (and a good dose of trust) and here's how...

The second you start to notice yourself beginning to worry, just smile and simply affirm to yourself, ‘Whatever happens, I will handle it. In this moment, I choose to let go of worry and move into trust. Everything is going to work out okay.'

Remind yourself, that most of the things that we worry about never happen anyway!

3. Stop listening to your negative self-talk.

Does your negative self talk stop you from taking the next steps to go after your dreams?

Through my coaching and healing work, I have worked with hundreds of women. One of the things that I have discovered is that transformation really does begin in our minds, with our self-talk (also called 'inner dialogue'). Our self-talk are the thoughts and stories that we habitually tell ourselves.

You can stop your negative self-talk by first becoming conscious of it. From this place of awareness, you can begin to transform your negative self-talk into kinder, more loving and supportive thoughts instead.

Next time you catch your negative self-talk, simply ask yourself 'Are these thoughts helping me move towards my goals?' If not, just let them go. You don't have to believe your negative self-talk - they are just thoughts and your thoughts can be changed. Rephrase your self talk into something more positive instead. (Self-talk is such an important topic, I dedicate a whole section to it in my book, ‘Losing Weight is a Healing Journey.’)

So, now you have some tips on what to stop doing, here are some for you to start doing instead!

1. Start living in the moment

When you really become present to living in the moment, you will see that everything is okay right now and there really is nothing to fear or be afraid of.

Simply start by slowing down your thoughts. Allow yourself to become present to today, this hour and things as they are in this moment.

Here’s the easiest and fastest way I know how to do this… Bring your focus to your breath, starting with your inhalation. Notice your lungs and tummy expand with your breath and notice them release and with your and your exhalation.

2. Start listening within

When you listen within, you will be able to hear your intuition speaking and guiding you.

Fear creates confusion but your intuition creates clarity and the ability to see clearly. When you listen within, you will know what to say, what to do and when to do it. Trust yourself, trust life and realise that everything is going to be okay!

Gentle yin practices such as yoga, journaling and meditation are powerful ways to listen to your inner guidance and start trusting your intuitive urges.

Remember, the guru always lives within.

Truly, you are the only expert on your life. Do what makes your heart sing!

3. Start saying 'Yes' to life!

When you create the habit of saying ‘yes’ to life, everything will expand for you. This will give you the opportunity to live a much richer and bigger life, creating juicy memories and wonderful moments.

Feeling fearful has the power to keep you feeling stuck and playing small in the world. When you stop doing the things that create fear, the easier it is to tune in and hear your inner guidance.

The more that you give yourself permission to live in the moment and listen within to your quiet inner voice, the more that you can shout yes to your dreams and living life on your own terms!
